Raven froze and her eyes narrowed and glowed, turning a menacing look to the man as for once she sounded something other than monotone. She sounded angry. "How do you know me?"

Nick drew a sigh of relief as Raven came back through the portal. He drew his breath short when Raven's glare pierced straight through him. An edge of anger was present in her voice this time. "How do you know me?"

Nick chuckled. "I've only heard of you through legends, dear. That incantation you just chanted. Azarath...it's your homeland. Metrion is your real name. Thanks to my past, I've heard of you from both perspectives...as the heir of Trigon and as the peacekeeper from Azarath."

Thanks Kode...and Grim too. he thought. I owe you both one. Out of all he'd learned about the demon side of things, demon lore grabbed his attention the most. Especially when he read Raven's story, he knew he was in an equivalent situation. Coming from the ultimate evil, but being nurtured by the ultimate good...yeah, Nick knew that feeling all too well.

Raven continued to glare at him and suddenly she was just a foot away from him. "So why have you brought it up?" She asked harshly.

Nick saw Raven get closer and closer until he could see through the shadow under her hood, revealing her face to him for the first time."So why have you brought it up?"

"Because," Nick continued. "I need your help."

Jack looked at raven. She was conversing with the man who told him it was 2015...and the strange device. "Do you know this man?" jack ask., alittle mad, but he could handle it. He turn to the man. "And who are you?" Jack asked, He had his hand on his 12mm pistol. Just in case.

Snippy sighed to himself, pulling out an electric cigarette to take in a large puff. Observing the energetic young male shouting, woo vegas. If only he had that kind of energy, and excitement for such stupid things. His electric blue hues scanned him down, lips locked about the electric cigarette, inhaling before pushing the vapor from his nostrils. Instead, he worked day in, day out, the energy and life violently smashed out of him like grapes being smashed for wine. Except, wine is delicate, said to be only drank by the rich. Charles was not at all delicate, nor rich. The moment in time made him think back on the woman trying to help him, which also made him feel guilty. She was only trying to help. Shoving away the vapor machine now, he stepped back inside, to the woman.

"Excuse me m'am?"

Takeo sighed, and walked towards Jack. Calm down. They are merely having a conversation. This is not for you to interfere. he said quietly. He lightly dragged him back into the hotel.

By the way, when the RP event begins, I -highly- suggest y'all amp up the skill and create at least a paragraph length post!

Raven continued to look at the man with obvious distrust and contempt. She crossed her arms as she floated in the air and asked. "With what?" She did not like people knowing about her past or talking about it. The fact that this man was able to recognize her based off some legend did not sit well with her.

Nick Gautier took a step back, wondering if Raven was just going to try and eviscerate him right there and then. Finally, she crossed her hands and spoke, "With what?"

Finally. Nick got a feeling he was treading on dangerous ground, something probably stemmed from bringing up the past with her. It wasn't a pleasant one, he could tell. But, in all honesty, who had a decent past that turned out okay?

"As far as I've been able to find, you're the only one who's done what I'm trying to accomplish," Nick continued cautiously. "You were born of a dark past, but raised and nurtured in the light. You see," he paused as he tried to find the words to say. "I come from a similar background."

"I am the Malachai, a demon created to destroy the world. However, I wasn't raised to think of myself as so. Unlike my father, I was nurtured in the love of my mother. So while a dark influence embodies my existence, I am held down by my sense of humanity. But I don't know how long I can hang on to it. I'm scared I'll destroy this world, like I'm prophesied to do."

"My question to you is this," Nick concluded. "How did you do it? How did you hang on to your Azarathian side and fight off the demon inside you?"

Raven's gaze softened a little as she listened to the man's explanation, her stiff, aggravated posture loosened slightly and she sighed, pulling back her hood to show herself as she scratched the back of her head in thought. "It's never easy to go against your birth and genetics. What helped me along is to remember that humans are just like me. They have doubts, hopes, dreams, nightmares, lives. They don't deserve to be subjected to anything worse than they already are."

When Raven spoke, it reminded Nick of Kody, which made some level of sense considering what species Kody was. To be honest, he still didn't know entirely. But these were words Kody would use and it made sense.

"Maybe, but don't you ever lose touch with that part of yourself sometimes?" Nick replied. "Doesn't rage make you lose sight of that? Like when I brought up your past. How'd you manage to contain that?"

Raven let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head softly. "I've had a lot of practice with containing my anger, it takes a lot to get me to that point, but I do still lose it sometimes. What always brought me back was the voices of friends telling me to stop."

Jack stood there silently as the two conversed. It was heart warming, although he didn't understand the things about demons though. Jack looked at Tak. "well, there hitting it off well, I think she even laughed." Jack joked. She looked to be the laughing type. He took out a tin. It had the word 'Mentats' on it. He open the tin, and took one of the sweet, delicious, mint. He looked at it. Should he take it? He hadn't took one since he was sent to Doc Church. He ate it. His senses heightened. He could see clearly, feel everything. He felt like he could answer any question. He looked to Raven and the man. "Alright whoever you are, if you want, you can join us. It would provide Raven here company." He said. He thought about how much raven might like this. Maybe she might lighten up. "But keep 'phone' away."

Raven jumped softly when she realized that Jack and Tak were still there and she quickly pulled her hood up and backed away into the shadows again, realizing she'd let her guard down too easily.

"So buddy, You got a name I can call you?" He asked.

As jack waited on a response, he decided to talk to raven. He couldn't just have her on his team with out talking to her. He walked torwds raven. "So, what was that? As soon as you realized we were here, you became more...enclosed. What gives?" Jack looked back at the man. He was thinking ....maybe for an answer? He looked at raven. "if your on our team, you can open up a little, you know."

Raven looked away. "It's just easier to be separate."

"separate from what?" Jack asked intently. Mentats, you got to love'em. They gave him enhanced perception, Intelligence, and even charisma....it should help. Mayb she might even be able to be trusted.

Raven sighed. "Separate from everything. If you don't get attached then you don't have weakness."

*As Claptrap finished his sentence, a small smirk appeared on Jiro's face. As the two made their way to the Golden Grin Casino, Claptrap asked him what his name was. Though Jiro, would have preferred to give the robot his actual name, he instead gave the robot his alias. "Jiro." He didn't seem trust this fellow... At least not yet, anyway.*

*As Jiro approached the Golden Grin Casino, along with Claptrap, he looked up at the large, "Golden Grin," that was located above the main entrance. With the added blue, white, and yellow lights, the Grin twinkled a bit... Jiro cleared his throat, and said, "Let's get rich..." "Run! RUN!" The Exiled King tossed and turned as memories of that day came flooding within his mind. "Dragon! DRAGON!" Even his own face wrenched and writhed as if he were awaken with pain. "Father! FATHER! WE MUST LEAVE!" He shouted to Thrain, his father. "Yes, my son, but please you must find King Thrór! He is not where he should be!" His father pleaded as Thorin nodded. He left his father in the care of the retreating party as he ran to find his grandfather. He was where he believed him to be the...the treasure hoard. "My liege!?" He shouted down the great halls.

He ran as he saw him...and....Smaug, the Dragon. The Fire Drake had come for their amassed wealth and will kill any who dare stand in his way. Yet, Thorin knew that Thrór cared more for the gold, especially the Arkenstone. He knew that his grandfather would foolishly throw his life away in order to have it, something a proud Son of Durin would not allow. Thorin grabbed hold of the King and pulled him away from his gold, as Smaug's triumphant roar echoed throughout the mountain halls. It was then Thorin awoke, but not in the place he should be.

It was a strange land with even stranger things that populated it. He awoke in an alleyway, near the Excalibur Casino, covered in newspaper and other assorted trash. The Dwarf quickly launched to his feet and stared about his surroundings. Despite the people walking past they did not seem to notice him. Dismissing him as a drunken employee of the nearby casino and resort. After all, he certainly dressed the part. He recognized the people walking past as the Race of Man, but it was strange. They all wore absurd garments and carried with them strange items, like phones and cameras among other things. All of it was unrecognizable to the hopelessly confused Dwarf.

Then what's this!? These sounds that roar like that wretched wyrm! Why, looking past the crowds, an incomprehensible sight passed his eyes. What looked to be horseless carts and carriages, covered in metal and moving at unbelievable speeds. He watched them as they whizzed by, some moving faster than others, and some moving hardly at all, stuck behind lines and lines of the metal contraptions. The headlights of a turning car blinded the man as he swung about in terror. "Was I attacked!?" Thorin thought as he blindly wandered further down the back alleys.

Thorin soon regained his vision as he noticed it was relatively dark around him. The bright lights of this accursed place, shimmering down the alley. He moved around, nearly stumbling as he heard a harsh voice from behind him. "YOU! MIDGET!" Thorin whipped around to see a Man with a knife approaching him. He didn't recognize the word that was used to describe him, but he understood the tone well enough. Whatever it meant, it wasn't good. "Give me your wallet and any other valuables now!" He demanded. "What!? You dare try and rob from a Dwarf!?" He bellowed. It seemed this man was a burglar and not a particularly good one like Bilbo. Bilbo, he at first didn't find the Halfling at all useful. In fact he almost felt insulted when Gandalf had asked if we sought him out as the fourteenth member of his company. Yet, the Hobbit proved to be everything Gandalf spoke of and even more.

He began to worry for his companions and wondered just where they were. Yet he did not allow his mind to drift with a threat clearly before him. "Hey I said, wallets now!" The man spat. "I know not what you ask of me, but if it's riches then I will not abide you, fool!" He shouted in retort as he stood up straight in defiance. "WHY YOU NO GOOD FUCKIN' MIDGET!!" His aggressor shouted as he went in for a stab. Swung from his shoulder to his left forearm was the branch that given him his namesake, Oakenshield. The Oak Shield easily protected him from the stab as the foolish burglar thrust it deep into wood. He quickly whipped his arm, disarming the thief as he launched a punch straight to his gut. This caused his attacker to bowl over as a swift uppercut took him off his feet. Thorin then pulled the knife from his shield as he spat at it. "What low quality!" He muttered under his breath as he tossed it aside.

His would be mugger then drew a pistol on the Dwarf. Not hesitating for a moment, Thorin swung his shield at the man's hand as he fired his shot into the nearby wall. Disarmed once again, Thorin dropped the man to his knees with a powerful headbutt. And then came a one-two punch from the Dwarf as he smacked the man across the face with his shield, followed by a powerful right cross that knocked his adversary unconscious. Thorin spat at his foe as he turned to look at the strange weapon he drew. He walked towards it and picked it up. It was black and very sleek and made of metal as well. It looked like no blade or bow or anything that was crafted by Man, Dwarf, or even Elf. It was odd but light weight, yet it made an horribly loud sound. A sound that is still ringing in his left ear. While messing with it he hadn't realize that he squeezed the trigger as a bullet hit a nearby dumpster. Sparks flew when it clashed with the metal causing Thorin to drop it.

"By Durin! What matter of witchcraft is it!?" He spoke aloud. He felt a force come from the weapon as it seemed to fire something that caused sparks to come off metal. Upon closer inspection it seemed to penetrate it. It was a small hole and around the circle looked like it was burnt some. He was curious about this weapon he just discovered but if it could do that to metal...then perhaps his armor might not stop it. Then again, the material of this...metal container was of low quality as well. Still, Thorin had the instinct to feel that he should be wary of other Men who carry this strange weapon. He was nearly tempted to take it and examine it more when one of those horseless carts appeared down the alley. Except this one had lights, red and blue as two men stepped out of the cart. From what he could tell they wore even odder clothing compared to the rest of the Men he's seen. Not only that but they carry weapons, a club it seems and...was it more of those noise makers?

"You there, freeze!" They shouted as they drew the noise makers. Thorin didn't wish to be confronted by them, they look to be more like warriors than this one. Normally he isn't one to run from a fight, but he isn't one to foolishly throw his life away either. He ran as they continued to yell at him, telling him to stop. Yet Thorin did not obey instead he ran and turned sharply to avoid the gaze of his pursuers. He eventually escaped them by running out into the crowds. He was nearby a fountain as he continued to move further away from where his fight occurred.
