"Corded phones?" Nick raised a brow. "What are you, from the Stone Age? No one uses a corded phone anymore...or at least no one below the age of eighty-five. This is 2015, dude." He wondered if he was just messing around under that mask or if he was actually a little jet-lagged on technology. Hell, maybe he was jet-lagged and not hearing him straight.

"STONE AGED!? I have you know, that I know advance knowledge of nuclear physics! And what the fuck is that? I mean really, there's no such thing as cordless phones. Synthetic humanoids? Sure, Tesla cannons, Hell yeah, Power armor? Some off the best. But cordless phones? That's fucking impossible! Now, it isn't 2015....there's no way. It has to be 2278. There's no way project purity could send me back in time." Jack was angry...Was this some practactical joke pulled by a raider? Or would he have to come to terms with this....time...

Raven rolled her eyes at the encounter and removed the man's gun from him with her magic. "Chill out, this is 2015 and you're the strange one here." She said simply as she kept the gun levitated high enough above him that he couldn't reach it.

Jack looked at the gun flying over him. His eyes trans fixated on the aura. How was she doing that?! "How the fuck are you levitating a gun?"Jack was glaring at her. Then her words hit him.."Chill out, this is 2015 and you're the strange one here." It....but...how was this possible!? The thought. "this isn't happening....It cant be 2015....I was just at project purity...."He was slightly calming down, his mind reeling.

Raven watched him intently then floated up and over to him, still levitating the gun. "I understand. I've been moved to a different world before, it sucks." She said simply, looking up at the gun. "It's an ancient dark magic that I've been studying for years." She said simply.

Magic is essentially one thing you'll see in this world. But a zombie outbreak? I don't think so. Takeo muttered, looking at his bloodstained katana. He looked around in boredom, not knowing what to do now.

"Magic? That doesn't exist! I must be going crazy!" jack replied. He sat down. Even though he been through everything, and he was almost as tough as a death claw, his mental health never got any better. Wounds heal, but scars never go away. He was on the ground, sobbing. He tossed his helmet off his head. He hasnt ever cried, the last time he cried was when he was 12, and butch made his day a living hell....he started having flashbacks to older conflicts. Amata kicking him out of the vault, raiders cuelity, the time he failed to save a slave from a bomb callor...it all came out. Even his dads death on project purity. "I...just wanted to help ppl.....am I a bad person?" he sobbed

Raven watched him unchangingly as he dropped to the ground sobbing, she set the gun down and lowered herself to the ground, kneeling beside him, she reached out a hand to his head. "May I check and answer that for you?"

"Go ahead...."Jack sobbed. Jack just sat there, still crying. The lobotomy, the fact his own brain didn't like him, the fact he let two people die for inaction, how he had blown up a town without even knowing it....he didn't know that package was a nuclear arsenal! He didn't know....

Raven rested her hand on his head and closed her eyes. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos." She said, opening her eyes so that they were glowing white and she searched out his brain, skimming over his memories, looking into his motives, even peeking at his hobbies. She pulled herself out then closed her eyes and opened them again, they were back to normal and she pulled her hand away. "You're a good person. You've made mistakes, but everyone does." She said simply, standing up.

"But my mistakes costed lives....." He muttered. "I told a scientist to leave our group because he had a heart condition.....and I didn't have the stims.....hes dead now. Dead by the Enclave that chased us." Jack sobbed lightly. "sometimes I think people would do better without me...."He grumbled. "he looked at the girl. "do you know what its like to save people, and only for those people you save die anyway?"

Raven stared at him and she nodded. "I do."

He patted his back sympathetically. You have to let go of your past. How would your family, or friends, think if they saw you like this. They didn't want you moping around for sure. he said. He handed him a bottle of regular soda pop.

Jack looked up at tak. Even though he knew this man for only ten minutes, he felt like he could trust him with his life. He felt the same with raven...he wiped the tears away. He took a big shaky breath, and drank the soda....it was no nuka cola, but it was good. He place the bottle cap in his pouch.

"my dad wouldn't like it." he said, wiping away a tear. "umm...Tak, would you like to join me and raven? and thank you for that, and you two raven. Most of my friends would probably leave me seeing me like that."

It'd be an honor to join you. he said, saluting. I do believe that you use bottle caps as currency. he guessed. He got up, and pulled Jack up, brushing his back. We'll have great adventures. Takeo said.

Raven shrugged and floated up and sat down on the trash can again.

"Yeah....I guess we will." Jack said, as he was pulled up. "but first, I need a psychologist.....but those guys are rare" Jack said. "And maybe after that we can find a merchant, and find a decent place to sleep. Im tired as hell" he turn to his group. "And maybe some info on this.....place." He straighten his duster, and combat armor, and put his helmet back on. He grabbed his plasma rifle and put it in his bag.

Raven shrugged as she watched him pull himself together and suggested what to do next. "Whatever." She said, pulling out a book from her cloak and opening it to read, it had ancient words on the cover and a rather... ominous design that looked almost like a demon face.

Jack Looked at Raven. "Is that going to be your catchphrase?" He said jokingly. "He looked torwds Tak. "Know were I can find a psychologist in this place?" He asked.

You know, I live in that hotel next to us. Takeo said, speaking up as he gestured toward the left. The lights blinked on and off, lots of people going in and out.

Jack looked at the Hotel. There were so many people going in and out of it.....It was beautiful. Jack looked at Tak. "Ok, change of plans, we go to the hotel, sleep, and worry about other things in the morning. What do you two say?" Jack thought about sleep.....he desperately needed it...

Raven shrugged again, "Sure, whatever." She said as she floated up and made a portal in the wall, floating through it into the hotel lobby.

Okay, so this dude was nutso. Nick casually back away from the situation, feeling like he'd cause some major damage if he spoke any more. Seeing the cloaked girl float towards him to defuse the situation, Nick casually watched the resilient masked man unleash his inner sorrow of being brought to this world unwillingly.

Yeah well life sucked, he thought.

The idea of time travel wasn't foreign to him...in fact, in his future life, he'd do it himself. Although he had the feeling that Stryker didn't send this man from far into the future...that was human ingenuity.

And it only took a couple centuries.

Nick froze at the familiar phrase. Taking a closer look at the cloaked girl, he realized that what he was seeing was real. She was...

Nick could only stare, frozen in place, as the cloaked girl continued to comfort the masked man in a monotone voice. The chinese man was there too, helping him get on his feet and into the hotel he apparently came out of when he knocked on his window.

"Wait!"

He called to them as they entered the hotel. The cloaked girl was about to enter the portal when Nick yelled, "You're Raven, aren't you? Daughter of Trigon?"
